Tokyo Festival 2025
to Be Held Across the City This Autumn for 2 Months
Expanding its reach to turn all of Tokyo into a festival stage
From September 1 to November 3 (a national holiday), Tokyo will host the Tokyo Festival 2025, a two-month-long festival for the performing arts.
Centered at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in Ikebukuro, the festival will feature an internationally diverse lineup of performances as well as community-friendly events across the city, turning all of Tokyo into a stage.
Look forward to an autumn in Tokyo where everyone can experience and enjoy the performing arts!
1. Performing Arts Festival: Autumn Meteorite 2025 Tokyo: Under the Artistic Direction of Toshiki Okada
Directed by acclaimed playwright and director Toshiki Okada, Autumn Meteorite 2025 Tokyo will be running from October 1 to November 3. The festival will present 15 (subject to change) diverse works of performing arts from Japan and abroad, along with related talk events and more.
2. Diverse Lineup of Performances Across Tokyo
From entertaining stage productions to unique outdoor performances, this festival is calling for a wide variety of works to be presented across Tokyo as part of the Tokyo Festival.
Participating works will be featured on a dedicated website, with multilingual ticket purchasing support currently under consideration. Support may also be provided for those that help build public interest for the festival.
The festival will also feature initiatives to nurture the next generation of performing arts professionals, promote international exchange, and enhance support for audience accessibility, making the performing arts more inclusive and accessible through the Tokyo Festival.
