Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum

Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum opened in 1983 in a renovated Art Deco house constructed in 1933 for the Imperial family of Asaka. Its architecture is historically precious in that it has almost perfect preservation of the Art Deco style prevalent in Europe during the 1920' and 30'.

 

Edo-Tokyo Museum

To promote general understanding of the history and culture of the Edo Period (1600-1868) and Tokyo (after the Meiji Era), and to play a pivotal role in activities designed to preserve cultural heritages being lost to the next generations, Edo-Tokyo Museum opened in 1993.

 

Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum

By relocating, reconstructing, preserving and exhibiting buildings of great cultural worth that cannot be preserved where they stand, the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum preserves precious cultural heritages for future generations.

 

Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

Tokyo Photographic Art Museum is a museum specializing in still and moving images. The museum is the first of its kind in Japan, and there are only a few others like it elsewhere in the world.
It collects and exhibits moving image of cultural importance and excellent photographs from both home and abroad. It also plays a pivotal role in activities for the preservation, restoration, and research of still and moving images. The museum is a place where visitors can take part in and enjoy our activities.

 

Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo

Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo researches, collects and exhibits a wide variety of modern and contemporary works of art, including paintings, sculptures, fashions, architectures and designs. The Permanent Collection Gallery presents an overview of the flow of modern art and the Temporary Exhibition Gallery hosts distinctive events such as large-scale international exhibitions.

 

Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum leases gallery space to artists' groups for public subscription exhibitions of oil paintings, traditional-style Japanese paintings, sculptures, crafts, calligraphies and others. In addition, the museum jointly hosts exhibitions with newspaper publishing companies and other organizations. Furthermore, the museum offers its atelier cart library as production space for use by amateur art circles consisting of citizens of Tokyo and its auditorium for art-related lectures.

 

Tokyo Bunka Kaikan

Ever since its opening in April 1961, the popular Tokyo Metropolitan Festival Hall, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan has served as the venue of various musical and stage performance, including concerts, operas and ballets. The hall continuously aims to discover and nurture the brilliant possibilities of the next generation of artists and to offer citizens spiritual refreshment.

 

Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre

Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre is a hall that is designed to provide the citizens of Tokyo with enjoyment of art and culture. It consists of a large hall, used exclusively for orchestra performances and other concerts and equipped with one of the worlds' largest pipe organs, a medium hall with Japan's first movable side stages that slide toward the audience and small halls with stages, the size, height and shape of which are easily adjustable.

 

Tokyo Shibuya Koen-dori Gallery

Tokyo Shibuya Koen-dori Gallery holds a variety of exhibitions and other programs, including Art Brut, as a way to contribute to the promotion of understanding diversity and the realization of an accepting and inclusive society through art. The Gallery creates opportunities for people to encounter the diverse creativity and new values of individuals.

 

Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS)

Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS) is an art center that creates and disseminates new art culture from Tokyo. The two hubs, TOKAS Hongo and TOKAS Residency, are engaged in a range of activities for artists working in a wide variety of genres on many different stages, such as exhibitions, residence programs, concerts, performances, educational programs and more.
