Tokyo-Selected Athletes for 2025 Deaflympics Make Courtesy Call to Governor Koike
On November 6, Tokyo-selected athletes of the Japanese team taking part in the 2025 Tokyo Deaflympics made a courtesy call to Governor Koike.
“The Deaflympics will finally be held here in Tokyo in this commemorative year marking its 100th anniversary. I hope you all will achieve good results and make this a memorable occasion,” the governor said.
She then promised them, “At the Tokyo Games, we will disseminate to the world such assistive technologies with universal design and cutting-edge IT employed, which will help you overcome your impairments. And we will extend our heartfelt hospitality to all athletes coming from around the world.”
She concluded her address by saying, “I sincerely look forward to watching your outstanding performances at this 100th anniversary Games in Tokyo. Through this opportunity, I hope we can work together to build a society where everyone, regardless of disability, can live comfortably.”
