Governor Koike Attends Opening Ceremony of the Kanda Used Book Festival
On October 24, Governor Koike attended the opening ceremony of the “Kanda Used Book Festival,” organized by the Kanda used bookstores’ league and held at the Jimbocho Book Center in Chiyoda Ward.
The governor said, “The Kanda-Jimbocho district, lined with secondhand bookstores, has been bound together by a very strong bond among those committed to protecting the secondhand books and the district of such stores. I believe this is the greatest secret to having this district maintained and nurtured. To polish Tokyo further, a city where attractiveness, tradition, and innovation are lumped together, I sincerely hope this district of secondhand bookstores will continue to shine brightly in the future.”
